I love how Amazon has the Daily Deal. I have bought CD's off of there for a steal. Like House of Heroes "The End is Not The End" and several others.

The interesting thing to note is that you do not need to have a credit card to use iTunes. When I first got iTunes in 2005 I did not have one, so I would just refill my iTunes account with giftcards when I needed to.

I like the ease of the iTunes store, but the prices on Amazon are definitely better.

Yep, I do something similar to you. I still buy a lot of CDs, but I ended up ripping and adding them at high quality on my computer. I also agree on the FLAC format. It's big, but it's worth it. I reserve buying downloads to those albums that are good, but not awesome.

I used to buy music from iTunes and Amazon but realized their quality is subpar to actual CDs.. Personally, I think 320 kbs is as close to CD quality as an mp3 can get. Since I've gone back to purchasing CDs from record stores, I've loved everything about having a hard copy of an artist's/record label's work, where I can flip through a booklet and discover more about that artist.
Though, I haven't completely scrapped digital; I take my audio CDs and rip them and encode them into a lossless format, usually FLAC (FLAC for me since it's open source and works perfectly on my linux computer). The files are much bigger, but the quality is much better than that of an mp3 or aac.

Glad to see you mentioned Amazon's mp3 Daily Deal. That alone has made me an amazon fan. I've built up quite a collection of music just from those daily deals and probably saved hundreds since they started doing it. There's a cool google gadget out there that lets you easily track and preview/listen to the deal - http://www.google.com/ig/adde?moduleurl=http://www.frugalgadgets.com/AmazonMP3DailyDeal/AmazonMP3DailyDeal.xml or you can do the same directly from their site - http://www.frugalgadgets.com/amazon-mp3-daily-deal.php

Basically the deal is the first thing I see every morning when I log into my computer - go Amazon!
